Prince Alwaleed finances Islamic art wing at the LouvreArchitectural plans were released on 27 July for a new wing at the Louvre museum in Paris to showcase Islamic art. The 4,000-square-metre building sponsored by Saudi Arabia's Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, France's Total and the French government at a cost of $67.3 million, is scheduled to open in 2009. Prince Alwaleed will contribute almost a third of the required funds.
